If you spread pine straw in your landscape gardens
twice a year or more to keep its beauty, then our product is right
for you. Our synthetic pine straw lasts years without replacement
versus real pine straw that breaks down and loses color.
Made To Last Straw is a synthetic pine straw made from recycled
plastic. The process began with an idea to do what is right for
our environment and to preserve our forests while still fulfilling
the needs of builders, homeowners and landscapers.
Our product will help you save labor and material costs on a life
cycle basis. Our synthetic pine straw is a type of plastic custom
profiled utilizing modern equipment. It has been designed to have
a sheen that is rich in beauty and is colored and sized to
simulate a 10 to14” reddish brown pine needle, which comes from
the long leaf pine tree. Most pine straw comes from loblolly or
slash pine trees with needles that are between 6 to 10”.
Made to last straw contains UV to help keep its color from fading
due to sunlight. It has been tested in a xenon arc accelerated
weatherometer to the equivalent of 5 years of outdoor exposure.
The ending result was no noticeable discoloration. Our Made to
Last Straw will maintain its color for 4 to 5 years, maybe longer.
Guidelines
The synthetic straw should be turned and fluffed after 2 years to
rotate the surface layer and expose all sides of the needles.
